6 Best Alternatives to the Msi Aegis RS2 RTX 5070 Gaming Desktop (2026)

How each alternative compares

ASUS ROG G700 RTX 5070 Gaming Desktop

The ASUS ROG G700 shares the same Core Ultra 7 processor and 32GB RAM as the MSI Aegis RS2, but it swaps Windows 11 Home for Windows 11 Pro. You gain a significantly larger chassis that measures 20.1 inches wide and 18.9 inches tall, compared to the MSI’s more compact 19 by 19.4 inch footprint. This extra space supports a tool-less design, making internal component swaps easier for builders who plan frequent upgrades. However, the trade-off is substantial bulk. The ASUS unit weighs 40.4 pounds, which is nearly 14 pounds heavier than the MSI’s 26.9 pounds. If you prioritize maximum internal space and professional operating system features over a smaller footprint, this larger tower is the better fit. It sacrifices compactness for superior airflow and access.

Alienware Aurora Ultra 7 RTX 5070

The Alienware Aurora Ultra 7 RTX 5070 matches the MSI Aegis RS2 in core specifications, featuring the same Core Ultra 7 processor, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB SSD storage. The primary difference lies in connectivity and brand ecosystem. This Alienware model highlights Wi-Fi 7 support, offering faster wireless speeds and lower latency compared to the MSI’s standard wireless options. It appeals to gamers who prioritize modern networking standards and the Alienware design language. While the internal specs remain identical to the reference model, the Aurora focuses on connectivity and brand identity rather than the MSI’s specific liquid cooling architecture. If you need the latest Wi-Fi standard and do not require the specific thermal management of the Aegis RS2, this model provides equivalent performance with different connectivity advantages.

iBUYPOWER Y40 RTX 5070 Core Ultra 7 Gaming PC

The iBUYPOWER Y40 RTX 5070 Core Ultra 7 Gaming PC uses the same Core Ultra 7 processor and 32GB RAM as the MSI Aegis RS2, but it distinguishes itself through included peripherals. This bundle typically adds a mouse and keyboard, which the MSI model does not include. The chassis dimensions are also different, measuring 17.3 inches in length, which is slightly shorter than the MSI’s 19.4-inch height. It runs Windows 11 Home, matching the MSI OS. This option suits players who want a complete setup out of the box without buying separate accessories. It offers similar gaming performance for 1440p titles but trades the MSI’s specialized liquid cooling for a package that includes essential input devices. If you value convenience and bundled hardware over the specific cooling solution of the Aegis, this is a practical alternative.

MSI Codex Z2 RTX 5070 Gaming Desktop

The MSI Codex Z2 RTX 5070 Gaming Desktop differs significantly in its processor choice, using a Ryzen 7 instead of the Intel Ultra 7 found in the Aegis RS2. It retains the same 32GB of RAM and RTX 5070 graphics card but doubles the storage capacity to 2TB, compared to the 1TB SSD in the reference model. The chassis is also more compact, measuring 16 inches in length and weighing only 21.3 pounds, which is lighter than the Aegis RS2. This model appeals to users who need more storage space for large game libraries and prefer AMD processing power. It sacrifices the Intel platform and the larger liquid cooling radiator of the Aegis for a smaller, lighter form factor with double the storage. If storage capacity and a lighter chassis are your priorities, this AMD-based option is a strong choice.

Alienware Aurora RTX 5070 Gaming Desktop

The Alienware Aurora RTX 5070 Gaming Desktop shares the Core Ultra 7 processor and RTX 5070 graphics with the MSI Aegis RS2, but it emphasizes brand support and service. This model includes onsite service support, a benefit not highlighted for the MSI Aegis. The storage capacity is listed as 1TB, matching the reference model. The chassis dimensions are distinct, measuring 18.1 inches in length and 16.5 inches in height, offering a different physical footprint than the Aegis. It weighs 33.9 pounds, which is heavier than the MSI unit. This option is ideal for buyers who value comprehensive warranty service and the Alienware aesthetic over the specific cooling features of the Aegis RS2. It provides equivalent core performance but focuses on post-purchase support and a sleeker design profile rather than internal thermal engineering.

iBUYPOWER Element RTX 5070 Ryzen 9 Gaming PC

The iBUYPOWER Element RTX 5070 Ryzen 9 Gaming PC steps up the processing power by using a Ryzen 9 7900X instead of the Core Ultra 7 in the MSI Aegis RS2. It keeps the same 32GB RAM and RTX 5070 graphics card, along with 1TB of SSD storage. The chassis is white, contrasting with the black Aegis RS2, and measures 20 inches in length, making it longer than the reference model. It weighs 36 pounds, which is heavier than the MSI unit. This PC is designed for users who prioritize multi-core CPU performance alongside high-end graphics. It trades the Intel processor and the MSI’s liquid cooling system for greater raw processing power and a larger, white chassis. If you need superior multi-threaded performance for gaming and streaming, this Ryzen 9 option delivers more computational power than the Aegis RS2.
